Lock Gate 9

This was taken in Poyntzpass, Co. Armagh just outside my dads house (the old lock keepers cottage). It's what's known as Lock Gate #9 on the Newry Canal. The canal hasn't been used in well over 50 years and through neglect, has been reduced to a trickle. This lock gate was once a very busy part of the canal, often with queues of barges transporting all sorts of materials up and down the canal.
